Details: Failures
The Details tab displays key information about the failure.
The following fields are displayed on the Failure Details page:
-
ID/Name: Identifying fields for the failure. The Failure ID field is used to uniquely identify the failure. The Name field is typically more descriptive and does not need to be unique. The Failure ID and Name fields are both displayed in the Failure List.
-
Type: The type of failure (problem, cause, remedy). Failure Type is a required field for failures.
-
Category: The category associated with the failure, if applicable.
-
(Problems only) Procedure: A default procedure that should be associated with this failure problem.
If the failure problem is identified in the service requester, the generated work order specifies the designated procedure. Similarly, if the failure is identified in the Problem field of a newly created corrective work order, the procedure field will update with the specified procedure.
-
(Problems only) Asset/Location: A default Asset/Location that should be associated with this failure problem.
If the failure is identified in the Problem field of a newly created corrective work order, the record will update with the specified Asset/Location.
-
(Problems only) Routing Details: The Routing Details section lets you designate a specific repair center and/or shop that should be associated with any work order created due to this failure.
If the failure problem is identified in the service requester, the generated work order will specify the designated repair center and/or shop. Similarly, if the failure is identified in the Problem field of a newly created corrective work order, the record will update with the specified repair center and/or shop.
The repair center or shop associated with the failure / problem overrides the repair center or shop for the designated asset.
-
Status: A check box used to specify if the failure is active. Clear this check box if the failure is inactive to ensure that it does not show up in Failure lookups or filters. The failure continues to be available in the Failure module list.
-
(Problems only) Avail for Service Requests: A check box used to specify if the problem should be an available option in the Service Requester.
-
Comments: A field that can be used to enter additional comments about the record. The View/Edit Text button at the top-right of the field can be used to open a larger editing area.
